What’s the Ancestry DNA cancellation policy?
Subscriptions will automatically renew. If you want to cancel your Ancestry subscription, you can do so through your online account - just do so any time prior to two business days before the renewal date to be eligible for a refund.
If you want to return your unused testing kit for a refund, you’ll need to request it online and send items back within 60 days if ordering.
What is involved in an Ancestry DNA subscription?
Extra Ancestry DNA features are available when you subscribe for a membership or opt for add-ons. Without a subscription, you’ve got access to the ethnicity estimate, Ancestry DNA matches and shared matches. You also have limited access to ThruLines, common ancestor information and family tree details. If you opt for a subscription, you’ll get all available information about people shown in ThruLines, full information about matches’ family trees and all of the public information available.
If you want to access Ancestry DNA Traits, you’ll just need to pay a one-off cost.
When will I receive my Ancestry DNA results?
Once you’ve given your sample and sent your kit back, it can take anywhere up to five weeks for your test to get back to Ancestry. You should see your results on your online account within eight weeks.
